Took a week off and now I'm back

Back in room B! Last week was Holofes 7 so my sleep schedule was all turned around from the combination of waking up at 345am and 1030pm for concerts streamed from Japan. Then Daylight Savings hit so I was in no shape last Sunday to do much of anything other than lay on the couch.

This week we got a theme of “Crystal” and I couldn’t for the life of me think of what to do with that so I ended up making something obscene that could only get put in Spicy Punk.

More lazy punk in Room B

I’m experimenting with some different settings. I’ve managed to make everything sound worse. I think the last few weeks I was only routing out the two Aux channels that are just going through a 266xs compressor so everything that routed to the 2i4 was only the compression. I turned that off and now everything sounds crappier. This will warrant further investigation.

We got a theme of ‘Disneyland’. I made something I stuck over in Punk.

Fine I'll just go back to Room B then

I had two choices, I could figure out what was wrong with Room A, or I could just record in Room B. I chose the latter because I’m 99% certain that the problem upstairs is the computer is feeling its age. I use the laptop down here and I think I could use it upstairs but that’s going to involve laying on my back with a flashlight looking at wires. Those are problems for Future Necro.

Present Day Necro got a theme of “Urn” and I made a little punk song, which is where you can find it.

Some weeks just don't work out

Some weeks i get a theme, I start working on an idea and far too late do I realize it’s a disaster. This was one of those weeks. I went back to Room A thinking I could kick-start the ole creativity but either i’m off my game or I need to adjust the latency settings on this instance of Logic. Or both. Both could be true.

We had a theme of ‘Straw’ and I made an instrumental mess that’s over in Garbage where it belongs. I couldn’t even slip it into Experimental in good faith.
